HERE WE GO;  The big holiday break is on for many tv shows, parliamentary shenannigans, and controversial news stories. Just released by AAP and other agencies is that chestnut...the re-hash of the way the Americans responded to the slaughter of their population on 9/11 viz TORTURE! And for local consumption the cases of Mamdouh Habib and David Hicks are again being served up. Mr Habib, your rendition to Egypt was sickly but this country acknowledged the wrong through compensation to you. Mr. Hicks, you're a victim too,,,,of your own stupidity...no sympathy from this blogger for taking up arms against your own country. YES, we and the US did not react to barbarity and terror with a pure and meek response; maybe we'll do better next time [sheeesh]. BUT today's gripe is about the way the news re-hash has been served up. The headline reads; "HICK'S ACCUSES COWARD BRANDIS." Well this dummy is naive enough to think that proper journalism ....journalism that reports rather than editorialises the headline.... would state "HICKS  ACCUSES BRANDIS AS A COWARD;" So the AAP has, apriori, established that the Attorney General has long been a coward. Should be interesting to see how the various papers treat this. Just another example of media misappropriation which gets my goat.
