We, the faithful lay Catholics, are becoming more and more concerned to witness the growing number of our own priests and bishops coming out against the Pontiff.
The latest episode occurred just days ago when Fr. Thomas Weinandy, an Australian theologian and member of the Vatican's own International Theological Commission, gave a talk in Sydney. In it, he said this...
“It would appear that Pope Francis identifies himself not as the promoter of unity, but as the agent of division.”

Fr. Tom was the Head Of Doctrine of the U.S. Bishops until he wrote to the Pope to question some of the Pope's promulgations that were seemingly causing intentional confusion with their lack of clarity. That did it. Fr. Tom was fired last November.
There are many news reports about Fr. Tom's speech which need not be repeated here. What is concerning is the polarization of allegiances, and in witness to that element I now post comments from priests that I have noticed that followed Fr. Tom's address .........
Fr Weinandy OFM Cap because of his theological acumen and long standing credentials presents the strongest, coherent criticism of Pope Francis. Weinandy’s critique of the Pontiff is devastatingly accurate. And fearful. Particularly on the injury to the 4 marks of the Church. We are no longer one both in belief and in unity. We are systematically being dismembered. Not by stupidity but by clever manipulation. Diabolic has its root in the Gk word Diaballein, to cast apart; to throw apart, or to scatter. We must be realistic regarding what it is we’re contending with. Nothing in Church history can compare. Whatever the exact nature of our dilemma we cannot in conscience tolerate a new gospel other than what The Apostle says was handed down to us. We are obliged to openly repudiate the error. Fr Weinandy is correct that anger and protest is not a solution. An honest reappraisal of our priestly ministry is a first step for those with orders. To preach Christ and the Apostolic Tradition in Season and out of Season. To witness to the truth. This requires: humility, prayer, sacrifice for clergy and Laity. Rather than attack those who defend the New Paradigm expose its inconsistency with Christ’s revelation. Provide intelligent response with purpose of conciliation. And devotion to our Blessed Mother.
Father Weinandy's speech, which is in full on Sandro Magister's excellent blog, (
http://magister.blogautore.... is well thought out and rather lengthy, because he lays the Foundation of the Truth, so that those who read his conclusions are standing with firm footing on a solid foundation.
He is extremely charitable in his treatment of Pope Francis and over and over again offers him the benefit of doubt as to his intention, but nevertheless, he draws out the truth of the matter and exposes the evil at work in the current Pontificate. I fully encourage everyone here to read his full address, it is worth it, including the footnotes, which some are quite blunt, especially footnote 19.
Amen. As St. John Damascene taught, sacrilegious reception of the Blessed Sacrament is one of the surest ways of becoming Demonically Possessed. I mentioned this at a conference for exorcist's and said that for the sake of the salvation of souls, including the ones who persist in grave public sin, pastors have the obligation to refuse Holy Communion to public manifest grave sinners. I was supported by a few Bishops present, but another bishop, an auxiliary of Chicago, took the opportunity to attack me at Mass when he preached, wherein he taught that Jesus wanted everyone to be able to receive him and that no one should be excluded, all the while looking at me. Later, we met upon a walking path he going one way with his retinue, and I ambled alone along the path in the opposite direction. I looked at him and locked my eyes with his and stared at him, he in turn looked down and refused to meet my gaze.
Furthermore, St. Cyril of Alexandria has this to say about Sacrilegious Communion: They who make a sacrilegious Communion receive Satan and Jesus Christ into their hearts - Satan, that they may let him rule, and Jesus Christ, that they may offer Him in sacrifice as a Victim to Satan." Let's all chew on that for more than a while.
The hierarchy has become infected with men like this, truly this is the most corrupt age of the Church. May God deliver us from the grip of these false shepherds and may he convert as many of them as is possible. Amen.
